The focus of her interest is in the cultural-geographical interpretatin of rural settlements of different cultural groups in different settings, the processes of settling and the landscape results of those processes as integral to ethnic rural settlement geography. Kashi Nath Singh , who retired as the Head. Department of Geography, Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 1993, is presently a Professor in the University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He did his M.A and Ph.D from Benaras Hindu University and his post-doctoral research at the Rutgers University, U.S.A. Prof. Singh has lectured at American, British, German and Japanese Universities. He is acclaimed for his research in the field of Historical settlement geography.
