Subject(s): Summary: "Jacinta Kerketta– Born on 3 August 1983 at Khudpos village of Manoharpur Block adjacent to the sprawling Saranda Jungle in the West Singhbhum District, Jharkhand, bordering Odisha. Collection of poems–In 2016 her first collection of poems “ANGOR” was published in Hindi-English by adivaani, Kolkata. The Hindi-German version of “ANGOR” was published under the title “GLUT” by Draupadi Verlag in Germany. In 2018 the first book ANGOR was published in Hindi/Italian under the title “Brace” from Italy. In 2020 the first book ANGOR was published in Hindi-French under the title ‘ANGOR’ from France. In 2018 the second collection of poems “Jadon ki zamin” (Land of the roots) was published in Hindi-English by Bharatiya Jnanpith, New Delhi. The Hindi-German version “Tiefe Wurzeln” was published by Draupadi Verlag in Germany. Literary works–Numerous poems published in the country’s reputed literary magazines, including in “Parichay” of the Hindi Department of the Benaras Hindu University. Additionally, they are also carried by the Delhi publications — “Naya Gyanoday”, “Yuddhrat am admi” and “Shukrawar”. Her works have also been carried in anthologies such as “Shat Dal”, “Retpath”, “Samandar men suraj”, “Kalam ko tir hone do”, “Mati” and so on. Achievements–2014: “Indigenous Voice of Asia Award” by the Asia Indigenous People’s Pact, Thailand, for her report as Adivasi journalist on Adivasi local resistance movements. 2014: Award by the Jharkhand Indigenous People's Forum for her poetry, on the occasion of World Indigenous day. 2014: National level UNDP Fellowship in her capacity as a free-lance journalist. 2014: “Prerana Samman” from Chotanagpur Cultural Association as an inspiring young poet. 2015: Ravishankar Upadhyay Memorial Youth Poetry Award as a young promising poet, awarded by Dr. Ravishankar Upadhyay Memorial Institute, Benares. 2017: Aparajita Award by newspaper Prabhat Khabar. Foreign travel–2016: Germany: poetry readings and discussions about Adivasi issues in a number of German cities and universities. 2017: Hamburg University, Germany: presentation and poetry reading in a seminar on Adivasi wisdom. 2018: Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria: poetry readings and discussions about Adivasi issues in a number of cities and universities. 2020: Harvard University and Minnesota University of USA, poetry readings and discussions with students. 2020: Paris, France, poetry readings and discussions.
